The Red Deer Festival of Trees has openings for committee members to help organize our special events and activities.

Mistletoe Magic

Tickets for our popular daddy/daughter dance are among the most sought-after during Festival.

Working on the organizing committee, you will design all the activities taking place at the event, including the dinner buffet, our popular girls’ bucket raffle, the dance, activities like face painting, photography, and other entertainment, as well as attend the event held at the end of November. The committee meets about 6 times per year.

Sponsor Welcome Reception

This exclusive event requires seasoned event planners to help organize an exciting and unique experience for sponsors of the annual Red Deer Festival of Trees.

The event changes each year, so the committee must challenge themselves to find innovative ways to entertain these important guests. Duties include logistical planning, menu & bar selection, developing event specific fundraising activities, sourcing unique entertainment, and attending the event held at the end of November. The committee meets about 6 times per year.

Gift & Sweet Shop

The Festival Gift & Sweet Shop is a perennial favourite of Festival attendees. Our shop sells Christmas ornaments, locally hand-crafted items, and a wide selection of sweets & treats for holiday shopping.

The committee works year-round to obtain consignee items, shop for unique home decor & Christmas items, price the stock, set up the shop for Festival, and supervise the shop during the event in late November. Retail experience and/or retail merchandising experience are definite assets.

Candy Cane Lane

Candy Cane Lane (CCL) requires committee volunteers to organize the activities and games that take place during the annual Red Deer Festival of Trees. As a member of the committee, you will help organize the most recognizable and cherished event at the Red Deer Festival, and one of our biggest fundraisers.

The position is year-round with meetings taking place about 8 times throughout the year (mostly in the Fall). Duties include logistical planning, brainstorming new & fun ideas for games, occasionally helping to construct games, purchasing prizing, and working in the CCL area during the Festival in November.
